If these pictures do represent the facelift, it doesn't look like anything major changed...which is a good thing for previous owners. Still using all-incandescent bulbs on the rear. Wonder when they're going to go to all (or even some) LED, especially given that the dealer training materials for E60 in 2003 talked about all-LED brake/tail segments for Brake Force Display (I couldn't wait, so I changed my entire rear to LEDs...).
I can't tell whether there are sheet metal changes or not; I don't think there are...if there are, they're certainly minor. The main features of the car on the front and rear haven't changed, which is a credit to the E60 design. As is typical, it looks like we'll get a new front bumper, and frankly, I can't even tell what's different about the rear.

With regard to the rear end, I think they flared out the license plate area to make it more like the M-kit. Notice the keyhole now has a flared edge and the area nearest the taillights are more gentle.

As far as the LED taillights, it could still be something they could add -- it's simply a bolt-on part so there'd be no real reason to test it on the road like they'd do with new aerodynamic parts...

Is it me or does there appear to be a body colored tape along the ridge of the bumper?
I see that Stream has also posted these pics in another thread. He makes note that these pics were posted before as this may have been a test mule of the new turbo gas engine hence the larger air intakes beneath the front bumper.

Hi,
Not everything that is posted in the web is true... this is certainly not going to be the 5 series facelift.
See you!
