If this is really the case and you can get other car drivers to agree/testify that it happened and join in, you might not be liable for paying the damages. You might have to get a lawyer or someone involved. Fight it man - you have to. Don't loose the car to some stupid accident.
Glad you are safe.

My Ride: 2005 BMW 545i, Silver Grey, Sport Package, R. Shades, Cold Pkg, Sat. Rad., Prem. Sound.
Following a line of traffic and some fucking dick tried to pull in with out signalling , every one braked to avoid a crash and I ran up the back of the car in front. Bastard that tried to pull in drove away.
Im liable due to driving too close, £500 down the pan for my excess.

Sorry to hear about this Mike, especially as it's the second time. Third time lucky?

Might be a good opportunity to upgrade to the lci headlights though!

Also, check your paintwork around the whole car. You're making a claim, so you can ask them to fix pretty much anything you want. If you have any scratches elsewhere you might as well ask them to paint it.

Why do you say you can't afford to insure it after it's fixed? It'll be insured till at least the end of your current policy right? After that, get a 520, the difference in cost to insure the two are SURPRISING!

Sorry to hear that man. I know we all cringed when we saw your pic because its the worst nightmare for each and every member on this forum. We put so much time & money into moding & perfecting these already very expensive cars, and I swear these a**holes on the road target us either because of jealousy or because they are looking for an easy payday. I get cutoff, pulled out in front of, and have people hide/drive right in my blind spot on purpose (if I speed up they do, if I slow down they do also to stay in that blind spot) on a daily basis. Sometimes I wonder if I'm unknowingly on some kind of "Jokes On You" T.V. show or something because it happens so much! It sucks bad that one of these clowns got one of our brothers, but keep your head up, we are all pulling for you in this very depressing time. Hopefully you'll be back out there dodging idiots very soon.

Glad your ok mate.
Insurance is a b1tch so I can understand why you might not be keeping the car. Check over bmwland as there is an insurance sponsor that may be able to do a cheap quote come renewal time.
Really hope you don't have to get rid of the car mate.
