I dropped my car this AM for just for this "eyebrow" purpose as it has 1200 miles left until it hits the 50K mark. Dealership was nice enough to offer a complimentary check & fix as well as oil change ahead of its "scheduled" 60K miles service. SA mentioned car needs a software update and needs to sit in the shop overnight .... that kills me. Anyhow the 2009 535i loaner feels great ... well until tomorrow ;-).

Really? I never noticed that. I was always under the impression with the auto lights selected, IF the system activated the main lights (ie it thinks the surrounding is dark), then the eyebrows come on also. I never realised this wasnt the case. Whats the point of having them on the car if thats the case?
IMHO, I think the front and back LEDS should be lit no matter what position the light switch is on or state the lights are in. If I selected DRL, then the halos with the eyebrow should activate with the rear red lights burning.
What a load of tosh all this is. Why does it have to be so complicated? BMW seems to have lost some of its credible logic design of the past IMO.
cheers

+1...Which also means you lose the adaptive headlight cornering feature as well. It makes no sense at all. So auto HL means no eyebrow, but HL ON means eybrow but no adaptive headlight. What a bunch of crap. Anybody try this with an 08 or 09 E60? Wonder if someone has caught onto this...
