So, my car is reaching 50K miles, I am thinking of purchasing a extend 100K warrenty for my car.
I check with my local dealer where I bought my car from and they quoted me its $4,144 for maintance and other warrenty. Is it right price that every pays?
How much did you all pay if you have bought a warrenty?
Will I get different price if I go to another dealer?
I appriciate for any input, Thank you.

I was quoted for $2700 just for extended warranty. I did not ask for extended maintenance because my brother-in-law has a mechanic shop.

aultimateE60, for the $4144, does the warranty cover everything the initial warranty does including Nav, HUD, electric seats, etc? I have seen much less expensive, but it covers primarily catostrophic mechanical failure, not all the goodies.

yes it covers everything just like new car warrenty.
they also quoted me same price $2700 and $1300 for maintance warrenty.
so i guess $4000 is reasonable price?

aultimateE60,
Please read the exclusion section. It does not cover nav, phone, sound system and their related components.
It's not like bumper to bumper original warranty anymore.

Thanks for the information

my dealer said everything will cover just like existing warrenty.
I guess they said that because I dont have NAV, phone, etc.

Whatever dealer said is not valid. What valid is on the paperwork. Go through the paper work before you sign.
If you don't have nav, phone, it's OK, but you have radio/CD which is not covered including speakers.
If you have BT, it'd not be cover either. Check with your dealer and make sure everything is in writing.

yup, there are certain exclusion and it is not the same as the original bumper to bumper warranty.
ask the dealer for the info packet for the bmw extended warranty.
about the price, i think you can do better.
when i just picked up my 525i it's like $2300 (i end up returning it since i don't think it's necessary), and for the mainteance, you can buy it for less than $1k.
actually if you have the 545i, it may cost more since it's a V8? and it may really cost more since you didnt' get it when the car is new? not sure....
just to make sure we are compare the same thing, it's the bmw warranty which extends coverage from 4/50 to 6/100.

I think $3300 for total sounds much better!
Will check with SA next thursday when my car will be in service.
