I have a 2008 550I that is coming out of warranty in July. I only have 43000 on it. The extended warranty for another 2yrs or 50000 miles is several thousand. Is it worth it to go ahead and get the extended warranty. I have had no issues with it and it runs great, no mods. I would appreciate any feedback from E60 owners who have upgraded or had any potential problems at 45000 and above, thanks for the help.

Your car is covered under MAINTENANCE PLAN and WARRANTY until 50K. Just extend the warranty on it just in case something major happens with it. If you do searches, you'll get various responses on how one owner needed a new water pump at 12k miles where another owner will tell you they're still riding on the original with over 90k miles.
But forget about extending the maintenance plan. Time and time again, everybody tells me that it's bogus.

Don't extend the maintenance plan and just get the extended 2 years warranty. I did and before it expired I had the battery and alternator replaced at no cost plus some other minor repairs. It was called BMW Original Owner Protection Plan. You have to be enrolled before the original warranty expires. This also include the BMW roadside assistance program. I think I paid close to 3Gs.
