I use 225/50R17 in winter and 245/40R18+275/35/R18 in summer. I can say that the difference is quite high in terms of tramlining. Huge difference on the same surface.
As for 10 degrees the steering wheel to the left... Hmmm. I think this is another problem. Check alignment and also check the steering wheel.
Or maybe you can try to explain again what the problem is...

If you go to a brand new road - that has proper grade, and still experience the issue you have a car geometry problem. If the problem isnt there on a good road surface, you can blame the issues on poor city engi neering!

Tramlining it is, its even worse with RF tyres.
Are your new tyres RF?

My tires are Bridgestone potenza pole position non-run flats. They had the highest rating on Tire rack.
As far as getting a new e60 as someone suggested, I would love that but I would have my rear kicked: I have 38000 miles after 16 months.

I agree with the majority here...have them checked/balanced/alignment.
