Default Ever open an airbag accelerator (crash) sensor?

FYI, I just posted this on another forum, thought you may be interested...

So I've been getting the front airbag sensor error, which would come back after resetting. Codes were for Front-Left sensor. I ordered a used one from eBay (scrapped from a 2005 Mini) and installed it, and the code hasn't come back yet... will have to see after a few hundred miles.

My original accelerator sensor was part number 65776927119; I replaced it with superseded the BMW/Mini part number 65776951595, off eBay for about $25.

Anyway, so I tried testing the sensor I had removed, but was going a bit blind, didn't really know what I was doing.... so I took it apart. Note how corroded it was on the inside, all that blue color is corrosion!

Looks like poor quality where the seal failed, just FYI I had to replace mine some yrs ago (also got used ones from eBay) but reason was they were the old partnumber and it was incompatible with my updated bmw software. Still got the old ones and now am going to tear one apart just to see.....lol
