this thread should be called "World's dumbest driving stories" LOL

That said, I've done some stupid sh*t myself - most recent was burrying my A6 2.7T in about 3 feet of snow and burning the clutch while at it. Or, another one: when I was 15yo I decided to practice rally-driving in my mom's friend's Renault 21 (this was in Eastern Europe) on ice - gased it with e-brake on full in second, spun the car into a concrete pole... summer job was a bitch in Russia - trust me, I know that first-hand LOL

But all in all, whatever doesn't kill us (or neighbor's dogs/cats) makes us stronger, so I hope you make the most of it and get a few goodies while you're fixin' the car! GL with the repair!

Eh, my car was two weeks new and I backed out too far and nailed our old Lexus that no one drove. Just scraped the bumper, but it was pretty bad. Luckily, when I was about nine, there was a commercial for something called GS27. I told my dad to get it and we did. Ten years later, we still had it in the garage. I found it, slapped some on, and to this day my dad doesn't know what happened.

Really, it was just a scuff mark, but it wasn't coming off by rubbing with a microfiber towel, so maybe it was more than that. Still, looks like new. I know it doesn't help your cause much, but....

Before the Bimmer, I had a Yukon Denali in the garage. My daughter parked her little Toyota Celica behind my SUV. Well, it wasn't supposed to be there and I couldn't see it as I backed out in the dark so it got a hole punched into the front from my trailer hitch. Actually that was lucky because if the hitch didn't get it, I would have gone right up onto her hood.
Needless to say, she is now banned from the driveway!

and plowed into the car you parked just outside of said garage? This has got to be the dumbest ass thing I've ever done. Three grand in damage to the various cars involved.
If I remember correctly, insurance does not engage if accident involves two cars from same family, or perhaps the wording is 2 cars on the same policy.

Sorry to hear about you accident. I went food shopping the other night and accidentally backed into the retaining wall. PDC was beeping away and for some reason I didn't hear it. No severe damage, but two nice bumps in the bumper now.

they're both on the same policy and it's all covered. they even waived my deductible and got me a G8 for a loaner.

Well my wife actually went through the garage wall with our Touareg (she thought that she put in reverse) and part of the garage (detached garage) collapsed on back of the truck. In positive side we got a new garage out of whole deal. She went stayed with her sister for 4 days because she said that she can't handle me making fun of her constantly.
