and plowed into the car you parked just outside of said garage? This has got to be the dumbest ass thing I've ever done. Three grand in damage to the various cars involved.
Life just sux sometimes! At least it wasn't some youngster playing in the driveway ... cars can be repaired!

Years ago I met the rear bumper of my across the street neighbor as we both backed out of our driveways.

Also, 20 years ago I backed out of my garage with one of the rear doors open. I had just put my screaming infant in his car seat and was rushing to daycare and then to the office. I discovered the doors on my then-new Saab didn't open that far.

In high school I went to a friends house and parked around the back side of his dad's T-shaped driveway. I thought, hey, if he pulls out of the garage, he'll just back 90 degrees to the street and I won't need to move my car. Nope. He was in a hurry to go show off his brand new Guards Red 911 Turbo to his girlfriend, and backed 90 degrees right into my car. I guess he wanted to make a head first launch out of the driveway. My friend and I heard the crunch. Back then, the guy was an exotic car dealer and he would let us drive the cars in exchange for washes/detailing. He trusted me. I'm not sure who felt worse, him or me. The tail light was smashed, the whaletail, the rear deck, etc. I wanted to puke. He probably just wanted to kill me.

Tough luck man.

My dumbest move was with a '95 Mitsu 3000GT. I was vacationing with friends at a lake. We wanted to rent jet skis and pulled into this curved driveway. They didn't have any available so I got back in the car and started to back down the driveway. Off to the right I gave plenty of room to a wood post but just as I was answering someones question, I slammed into a boat on the other side of the driveway. It just marked the boat but destroyed the tail light of the 3000GT and jammed it into the rear fender. That was a $900 mistake.

I also dropped an M5 into a drainage ditch backing down a curved driveway. That just bent an exhaust tip and loosened the rear diffuser. The car pulled right out of the ditch and I drove on. I also had a car full of people talking to me about something that night.

See a pattern here with me and curved driveways????

Very sorry to hear about the mishap but happy that the 550 was not badly hurt.
