Hi there,

I've sent several emails to local dealers and no replies. I assume the dealers aren't as excited as me about ED. Does anyone from Chicago know of a good dealer to set up ED.

Irv at Motorwerks in Barrington has been previously recommended.

Just call the dealers and ask for the person that handles European Delivery. It is much easier to talk to them directly.

Stay away from Motorwerks. I recenlty had a very poor service experience with them and I never received replies to my emails when I was buying my 545. Contact Mike Difronzo at Perillo BMW - tell him Joe Smith referred you - he won't forget that name - he sold me Perillo's first 545 SMG in April.

I worked with Lidia Phillips at Patrick BMW in Schaumburg for my ED in Dec. 2003 and it worked out flawlessly.

I worked with Hans Kribbel at Karl Knautz BMW in Lake Bluff. Hans is originally from Munich and was a great help in providing information and ideas for the trip as well handling the whole process of ordering the vehicle. He was even able to work with BMW for a last minute addition of the NAV and HUD. The whole process was perfect from start to finish!

Hi there,

Thanks for all the tips. I'll call these sales reps during the next two weeks. By the way, how much should I pay over ED invoice? I've read somewhere that $2-$1K is a good deal. Any help would be appreciated.

I would call Christine Shanahan at Perillo BMW. She is unbelieveable to deal with.

You are better off faxing a typed letter to a specific person at a dealership. E-mail has an unfortunate association with spam.

You should be able to achieve $1,000 to $1,500 over invoice. I did $1,500 over invoice last May. Chris Roehm at Motor Werks in Barrington will take good care of you. Tell him that I gave you his name. Motor Werks also has an exceptional service department.

Ken Reffsin at Perillo downtown sold me my US-delivery 545 mystic blue manual this year. He's knowledgeable, and he's pretty good about answering e-mails, at kreffsin@joeperillo.com. (Sounds like plenty of other people have had good results at Perillo, but this is just another name if you want to contact him.)
