No one on any forum that I have posted on seems to care at all, but I think it absolutely sucks that we can no longer get the 530i here in the U.S. starting with MY 2008. Yeah, I know, the twin turbo rocks yada, yada, yada. BUT....you still can't beat the newly enhanced 3 litre with 272 hp and it's sweet linear power.

... and you're still getting the old 3.0 lit with 231 BHP, an engine that went out of production in Europe a long time ago. Doesn't give the feeling of being an focused market.
It's like Sweden before we joined the EU, If a specific car wasn't being typed for Switzerland (they had the same tougher emission laws as we had back then) you could kiss that car goodbye...

A surprise for me was that the LCI EU 525i will have a 3.0 litre engine.
The hp's are the same 218 but the torgue is now 270 Nm at only 2400 rpm.
The Co2's are the same low as in the LCI 530i.
This is also a N53 engine with Direct Fuel Injection as is the new 530i.

I keep forgetting that the European market will still have a 530i. Too many engine choices in Europe, makes it confusing at times.
