I'd definitely go with the 9500ix. The Autolearn feature, which determines the location of fixed radar sources and locks them out, makes life much more pleasant. It also ensure that you won't become numb to constant false alarms and ignore the real deal. Also, the 9500ix will inform you of red light cameras, speed cameras, and speed traps through a database that you can easily update with a computer connection . The Solo gives you a bit more portability (meaning you don't have to plug it in), but the reports I've seen indicate that you pay a price in lower sensitivity. Plus, it doesn't have the GPS-enhanced features of the 9500ix.
