I got an error message this weekend on my 06 530xi. Says AWD and DSC Malfunction. Came on sunday night and i drove the car for about a mile then the message went away. Then this morning it was back on, went off about a mile later but came back when i pulled into work. Does anyone know what would cause this message? I want to get an idea about the error before i call the stealership. Thanks

Other than the obvious, which should be checked, others have had battery problems. Often high power systems are shut down to conserve battery power for start-up. I would consider getting the battery checked out especially if it is older. My $.02

Would the battery really cause an error for the x-drive? The only other thing i think it might be is, i had a tire replaced about a month back. On Sunday i noticed that was tire low on air, the valve core was leaking. I replace the valve core and re-inflated the tire. But if it had something to do with that i would have figured the tire sensor would have went off. Its one only tire that has air the other 3 have nitrogen. maybe with the cooler temps the pressure dropped a few psi and the x-drive notice the change in the rolling diameter and not the psi drop on the tire sensor?? It was not a new tire either. I purchased a used tire with the same tread depth as the other 3 to keep the rolling diameter about the same, I didnt have enough $$$ to replace with 4 new tires.
