Doesnt matter if the enginge is hot or cold - the oil does not jump out, so no worries.
But if you need to add cooler water to the cooler, THEN IT MUST be a cold engine or cooled off for arround 30 minuttes or longer. Be aware that you should expect to also add cooling water between services. Either check it manually or rely on the computer giving you the warning, bt again DONT do anything before the engine has cooled down.

In the UK they charge ?80 for an oil change for oil ONLY - labour, filter and tax extra - thats gotta be about $35 a litre to them in value - i cant see them giving that away!!!!!!!!

Thats UK. my SA gives me free oil top offs and quarts to store in the trunk.

The distance I would have to drive to the dealer to get the oil would cost me more in fuel than bying the oil myself - well almost.
Very little comes for free in the UK - not even a glass of water in a restaurant
