Finally got me car 530d .. loving it ...

How do you know when it has warmed up ?? and is warm enough for some spirited driving ???

Thanks

The red line in the rpm cauge will give you a hint... When the engine is still cold, the red line lies on lower rpms and will get up along the engine warming up.
And you can see the actual temps in a secret menu, which you can access while starting the engine. I'm sure some other members will give you a link to specific instructions or the instructions themselves how to get into that secret menu. I can't remember it right now so well...

edit: Congratulations on your new car and welcome to the forums!

Yeah I know what you mean. If your driving uphill on a hot day it would be nice to be able to monitor your engine temp. I added the ACM which shows the voltage, fuel reserve, and coolant temperature. This menu only stays up for about 60 seconds though so you periodically have to select it to see the info.

It's an optional add on module that allows for unique functionality......not something you can "unlock" -- actually involves adding on hardware...
