I get a engine vibration that BMW cant figure out. It only happens when I'm idling. BMW recommended a injection cleaner than was about 200? but that didn't seem to work. I also suggested that the idle might be too low, so they raised it slightly. The problem doesn't seem to go away.
any ideas on what the problem might be?

i am curious on this. What is the idle like? I have a burbling idle...like a slightly modified cammed engine would do. 'bouncy' is an exaggeration but just more mild. the tach doesnt move at idle..so the revs are not moving.
I have a 550i however. with 62k miles.
What fuel injector cleaner did you use? Just something standard from an auto parts store?

If its vibrating like a phone vibrator Just try to move your muffler by hands to the right and left and check if there is any worn rubber cause it happened to me before when I changed my muffler
and if its shaking like a cammed vette the dealer must investigate your engine and check the electronics

07 525i with 50k miles. I have an issue with rough idle with every start. It is like motor is missing some strokes, RPM needle is moving up and down a little bit. It goes away pretty quickly when engine warms up. Dealer said there was not fault codes; they suggested to do the injection flush for $150, I refused.

I've been driving loaners for so long, (no complaint there) I think I test drove all the 2011 3 series. The last one was a joy, the 2011 335xi, had it for like 3 weeks, only because BMW was having trouble figuring out what the problem was with my 530i.
I finally got my car back, BMW replaced the cylinder head because they heard a tapping coming from the engine, tightened the parking break, gave be a free oil change, reprogrammed the computer, changed the sunroof lining and right passenger door lining, and I got a break fluid flush because they said i was due for one that cost me $205.
The injector cleaner was done by BMW so I have no idea what product they used. that also cost me around $200. My car i bought in Canada so the warranty doesn't cover everything in the USA where I work now.
The engine vibration was gone for a day or two, its not quite as bad as it was, but i feel it coming back. Its a very light vibration now, but I got the feeling like the car was idling too low and about to stall.
Love the 550i, was very close to buying one myself, but I drive way too much for that.

dO SOME REASEARCH, THAT'S PROBABLY YOUR ISSUE....SINCE I HAVE MY CAR RIPPED APART I'LL CHANGE THIS MAINTENANCE ISSUE OUT TOMORROW..........MY PROBLEM WAS A BROKEN INTAKE MANIFOLD CONTROL UNIT. thE FLAP BROKE. cOST ME $180 BUT i THINK I'M GOING TO FIX MINE SINCE THE ELECTRONIC MOTOR IS GOOD.
