were there any of the marks left above the red line gauge? I always have 3 at operating temp and in 80-90 degree weather in stop and go traffic they never disappear - so if yours are going away I would get it checked out

actually that was the first thing i checked. everything checked out to be normal. 3 lines were visible at the time of the message appeared. i'm hoping it's just a glitch. just like the speed sensitive volume, sometimes the volume goes up or goes low once in awhile while driving a constant speed at the freeway. and the rds keeps unchecking it's self on my radio.

How is your oil level? On other cars I have seen accelerated coolant burn off when the oil has been low for an extended period. I suppose you could also have a faulty thermostat.
