Engine start/stop button question

is it extremely expensive to get the start/stop button installed on a model that didnt come that way from factory????

Probably just the cost of a new car.

(i figured this out on my own) did you all know that you dont have to turn the key in the ignition and wait for the car to start before releasing it, like you would on a normal car? all you have to do is turn it to the starting position but then release it instantly and the car will continue to start itself up. in a way its like having the button.

so i would imagine if you tapped into the ignition u could hardwire the button to start the car by finding what wires complete the circuit (command).

only dilema i see is that you'll still have to put the key in the ignition and turn it and the cost of the button to do the mod. but it should be possible...

Of course...the pre-lci's with m54 engines all have this feature...the key is the 'diamond shape' key instead of the new keyfob... and the ignition feature is called 'touch ignition'... Well, at least, that was what it was called here by dealers in Malaysia...

when you said 'starting position' what position is that? position 1,2 or 3?

i've never heard of this before

and turning off the vehicles requires you to stick the key back in?
