It is allready decided by BMWNA and out of my hands pretty much. I got lucky to get it replaced being out of warranty so it is all good anyway. I am getting 2 years of warranty for the whole engine (parts and labor) so I am pretty much covered. They would not replace a whole thing with just one cylinder warped anyways.

As long as there is no mileage limit on the engine warranty, then that sounds like a good deal.

Short block=the engine block fitted with pistons, rods, crankshaft, and I think oil pump. Everything else has to be swapped over from the old unit. BMW is not going to cover the addition of new heads and all that. If it ain't broke, they ain't gonna fix it
