BMW warranty covers free engine oil and filter change at approx. 25000km,
however here in Seoul, with such heavy traffic, many people recommend changing the oil at least once or more before the free changes.
More so with the fact that BMW engines are aimed at high-speed running, not at stop-and-go repeating city traffic situations.
That would make around 10000km per an oil change, and that ought to prevent oil sludge from forming inside the engine in the long term.
How often do you change you engine oil and filter?

It depends
I normally change my oil every 5k miles since my driving is split 50-50 between highway and city.
I'll probably continue this method with my BMW due to the turbos.
If you are strictly city driving, then maybe every 3-4 months would work, but thats just my opinion.
It would really be nice if there was an oil dipstick so I could at least see what the oil looks like.
