Got a service notification in the iDrive to have the engine oil changed. Says' I have 300 miles to go, however my dealear doesnt have an available appointment for another week. Should i try to not to drive the car much or should it not matter? Sorry for the dumb question. <_<

the BMW service interval alert is usually quite reliable. it takes into consideration multiple parameters before recommending when u need your car serviced: eg even your driving style.

what's more important is to make sure the ENGINE OIL LEVEL is ok - this can be checked either through the service screen in the iDRIVE's main menu - or the old fashioned way : check the dipstick in the engine compartment.

BMW straight six engines are also notorious for their high engine oil consumption - between service visits of about 18,000km for me - half way i find myself topping up 1.5-2L. the recommended engine oil is also of a lower viscosity which contributes to the higher consumption.

i think you can tell them you are very nervous/worry/feel not safe to drive because of that. they might jam you in to a earlier schedule .

You'll be fine unless you drive 2000 miles a week.
