Engine Malfunction! Reduced Power. Still in 09?
#1
I am considering buying a 2009 535. Been reading a lot about the Engine malfunction/ reduce power issues. From the reports from other forums it still does not appear if BMW still has the handle on the problem. Lots of trial and error with coils pack, cpu, re-programmimg and now the immenent fuel pump.
I am just wondering, if there are owners of the MY2009 having some of these issues?
Or, should I just move on to Audi A6?

I don't think the '09's have been out long enough. I only have 250 miles on mine, so mine's a little too early to start seeing probs. I think the majority of reports I've read have happened after 3500+ miles.
I emailed Bimmerfile and BMWBlog's moderators, and one (I can't remember which) said they think BMW switched pump manufacturers and this shouldn't affect the second-half 08's and 09 series.

***doubt you will find threads on how owners are NOT having engine malfunction codes. Reports/research will be biased as people only tend to post when problems arise....
