This is the third time this light has come on in the last 9 months. The last two times I have taken it to BMW and they said it was a "one time thing" and that it was no big deal. Well this is the third time.

Has anyone had this happen to them?

The OP's sig which says that he has a 545 should answer that question.

i had that happen. i just picked the car up from the dealership today. they ended up replacing the high pressure fuel pump as well as some vent in the gas tank. i have an 08 535 so i'm not sure if that's the same problem you would see with a N/A engine.

Rich, in your case, it is almost certainly the HPFP. Did the car start shaking what you start it cold yet? The dealer might not fix it rightaway, but just keep pushing - I know many stories where this issue has been corrected to never come up again. GL man.

As for the OP's question - IDK anyth there, sorry.
