Thanks to Dave I hope to have fixed my first problem mpg.Erg thermostat replacemnet.

Now to the second issues.

I get an engine fault on my car when I just start up.Can happen even when I just turn the key.
Power all seems fine.

What can this be.It does not store the fault on the computer,Ran a check and get a fault on 6 cylinders.
Could it be a pump issue or sensor issue,

Cheers Romal

Its not storing any codes but is giving you reduced power (limp home mode)? What does the statement above mean?

I've gotten this error several times on my '05 545 over the years. The car doesn't seem to run any different, and when I shut it off and restart, the error msg goes away. The dealer has never mentioned this as a fault, so the system is not storing it. I've been ignoring so far. Hopefully your problem is not an issue either.
