Hi,
I have been reading about the following on 530d e60
engine breather filter
egr valve
swirl flaps
and decided to do some research on removing the casing on my 530d e60 2006 couple days ago there is no engine breather filter in there at all.
1. is there supposed to be one in there and read about old type plastic with foam and newer type all hard plastic that fits inside as a reaplcement.
2. for this year of my model 2006 is there no need for one at all but i cleaned out the casing anyway.
the car has only done 35,000 miles for a uk model what milage should be taken into consideration to do the above work
engine breather filter
egr valve
switl flaps
thanks in advance

What about EGR? Cleaning maybe? I cleaned mine at 53,000 miles and it sure was dirty.
Swirl flaps. Removing? No one can really say when should they be removed. They can last 10,000 miles or 200,000 miles or forever.
