mlist84, i'm quite sure it doesn't come with the car...at least for the states. it's in the accessories brochure page 37, item c and it called warning triangle. part no.: 82 11 1 466 578 and we have to pay $26 for that .

Yup, not delivered with the car for US customers. Apparently, the NTSB or some such big brother knows what's safe for us and what isn't, and they didn't think this triangle was very safe for U.S. citizens and others that live here. Go figure. We only just started getting the first aid kit. Previously, that was also considered unsafe for us. Order it or go buy one at PEP Boys. That baby's not worth losing any sleep over and, imo, not even worth a cuss word. Let them keep it in Germany.

I have one, but I received my car via European Delivery and was told at the Munich ED Center to take it (and the first aid kit) out of the car when I dropped it off or the Prep Center in New Jersey would confiscate it.

Yep.
That's what they do. I've heard that from others !

In Germany it's required - so on ED you'll get both, the first aid kit and the warning triangle. But it will be taken out of the car at the VPC.

So I guess you have to buy it if want one in the States or take it our of the car when doing ED before drop off.

I did ED and the car had the first aid kit and emergency triangle. I was told to take both out of the car before shipping back to the US as they are considered personal property. I also took the floor mats as the dealer gave me better ones upon redelivery.

The emergency triangle raised a red flag at the airport when going through luggage screening. Security opened the bag and saw the triangle and let it go.

Also, BMW replaced the first aid kit, so I now have two!
