My Ride: 2005 530i Individual, DVD Package, HUD, Bluetooth, Comfort Seats, SR, etc

I just experienced this weird problem, I was parking the car after driving normally for about 30 mins and I was waiting for a friend in the parking lot while the vehicle engine running and I was listening radio, then all of a sudden the msg came in red in iDrive "ELECTRONICS FAILIURE IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO CONTINUE YOUR JOURNEY PLEASE STOP VEHICLE AND CONTACT BMW" I just panicked and I turned off the car, took my keys out and gave it a min and restarted again, but no Check Control Msg on start, then I noticed the iDrive was blank and after a few seconds it came up and looked like it was booting as it showed Date and etc before showing the PDC screen as I was backing up. Then I drove home without any sign of any problems. Anyone with similar experience? Am I safe to drive to work tomorrow without stopping at the service center?

A lot of software in these cars today, and sometimes things crash. The rule is if restarting resets and it doesnt come back, you should be OK. If it happens again, go to the dealer and leave the car running so you don't lose the error codes. I think there is the ability to send error codes via Idrive/car info/service- but not sure about that.

I just took a cab to work, i had something very important at work, but cant get my mind of the car, Its showing now sign of any error msg anymore, I will take the vehicle to dealer tomorrow, its just really scary a msg like that, it sort of keeps you out in the limb ..like you are sort of thinking it might die in the middle of the road....BMW should really rephrase the warning notes...
