My Ride: '04 545iS 6 spd, bought new via eBay, 11/05; Blk/Gry, Cold, L7, PDC, BMW Rear seatcover for pets.
First "Bumwa" was a new 1971 2002. High performance 5s since 1987. Beamer motorcycles too, currently on an 07 BMW K1200 GT; also a Moto Guzzi 1000 SP III.
After several prolonged stays at the dealer, today, the BMW field rep (Genius from Jersey) was visiting, so they called me in. At 4 pm they announced that yes, they had gotten it to happen and that the problem was a bad central info display (iDrive screen). They'll have a new one in the morning. We'll see. I know someone out in California had a similar issue; hope their's is resolved too.
I won't get the car back until Friday though, as we are waiting on my new set of ThumpFlats. The growling in the steering was driving me nuts. But nothing like the flashing icons and chimes that repeated for up to 10 minutes at a crack.
