Both the driver's and passenger's electric seats (all controls for the seats) periodically do not work. After the car has been off for awhile, the seats are working again, at least until they go through another cycle of not working. Does anyone know the cause and fix? Thanks.

that happened to me too - after the car was shut off they started working again. At first I thought it was a fuse but it couldn't have been.

That's really weird. Did you ask your service guy about it?

No I have not, but my son, who works at the local BMW dealer, said that another customer is having the same problem with his new 530xiT and the top technician at the dealer, who a super trouble shooter, cannot find the fix.

This happened to me one time, and the steering wheel also wouldn't adjust. Normally when I start the car, the steering wheel lowers into position and my seat side bolsters move inward (I have the Comfort Seats). None of the adjustment buttons would work, so I turned the key off, started it back up, and then everything worked fine.
It hasn't happened again since that one time about 6 months ago.

BMW has not wanted to know, forensics have no conclusive evidance, but have concluded the three fuses had blown to drivers seat, the glass on the drivers side has blown out of the car and no evideance of fool play. The case has not been closed.
