Need to pull some waterpump codes through INPA, but want to buy a cheap cable from ebay. Is there anything i should look for when buying (which cable do i need k+dcan)? Also how are these ebay cables for coding? anyone own a ebay cable on this forum?

I have a 2008 528xi, any experience or advice is great !

Get the K+DCAN. I have the older one K only one that works on my 2006 and a K+DCAN one that works on the 2006 and wife's 2009 X5. The older one I got from the guy in Romania. Don't remember off hand where I got the newer one.

These both worked. One is K only and one is K+DCAN. I bought the K-only before I had the 2009 X5 and knew any better. I must warn you that the software installation and usability is horrible, but doable.

I got "BMW USB OBD Diagnostic cable INPA Ediabas DIS SSS GT1" from "cata3131". This listing only works for the older 2006 E60 - K-only.

I also have this one "BMW GT1 OBD Diagnostic interface K+DCAN + BMW DIS v57 & S..." from "autodiagnostic-equipment". This one works for the 2006 and 2009 X5 - K+DCAN.

I do think that "cata3131" may have spent a lot of time on the software installation procedure from what I have seen on eBay lately. He also sells a K-DCAN cable I believe. I seem to remember another recent post of someone who got the stuff from Romania and was happy.

Finally, YMMV.

For the K+DCAN have you used it for coding aswell? (as i heard some cables are for codes only) .... also what color is the board if you remember? (heard green boards are the best)

I used it to read codes and clear with INPA and register battery with Tools32.
