Chill... It was meant in jest. Besides, I was talking more about the car's condition after 30,000 miles.
But... Florida does have some redeeming value. 75 degrees at Christmas. Year-round golf. No swamps around here, but lots of lakes.
humor does not translate cleanly wordwide...consider the following statement:

"nice tie!"

it could be interpreted like this:
in the UK - 'did your mom pick that out for you?' or 'did you pick that out in the dark?'
in Germany - 'nice tie'
in the US/Canada - could mean either of the above, depending on the persons cadence in the delivery...

Im not well travelled anywhere else but I suspect this could go on and on...

The amusement parks aren't really that great. The only good one here in Orlando is Islands of Adventure, but they only have 2 real rollercoasters. Ohio has the REAL amusement parks. Cedar Point.
I have to admit, I HATE FLORIDA!

Thus anyone bragging about it sounds foolish.

Anyone brag about the september heat and humidity? The bugs? Flat golfcourse's? Boring topography? Ground water problems? Burning swamps? Preditory tactics to take advantage of the swarming elder population? Overbuilding?

The funniest thing about the state is how imasculated the men become fearing discomfort. And they don't realize it!

Heat doesn't bother me so much, because I am not overweight or out-of-shape. I play golf all summer, and love it. Prices are cheap because winter golf is the peak season. I still love the cold. If I want snow, I'll go hop on a plane and visit it. I love to snow ski, and go out to Aspen every year. But for day-2-day life, Florida suits me just fine. I have not been bothered by a single insect since moving to Florida. The bugs were far worse in South Carolina, where I lived before. Flat golf courses? Not all of them. In the interior of the state, it is actually quite hilly. We have a few courses outside Orlando with holes that have 150 foot elevation changes on individual holes. Ground water problems? Maybe. But who drinks tapwater in this day and age? I only drink Fiji. Swamps? Maybe in the south. No swamps around my place. Just tons of lakes, great for water skiing. Check out my backyard.

I have access to that lake, plus 7 others which are even bigger. They are all on a chain, with boat canals connecting them.

It doesn't suck.

No. Not a gated community.

I live in Winter Park, just outside the Orlando city limits. Rollins College is right across the lake.

Wow, in order for you to HATE Florida, I would indeed hope that at one time you actually did resided here to have an accurate testimony. With every state in this country, there are the goods and the bads of that state. Like SubterFuse stated earlier, basically for each of Florida's bads, there are at least one good to out weigh that bad. This is especially true for those of us that enjoy the lux of having full access to some of FL natural amenities (i.e. tranquil lakes to ski, fish and enjoy priceless sunsets each evening). Out of curiousity, where exactly do you reside and why is it so much better than Florida?

Food for thought: December 18, 2007.....No snow to shovel, No ice to mandate caution, no 3-5 layers of clothing just to keep comfortable.............Just 75-83 degrees, a clear sky, shorts & T-shirts and crusing the roads with every window on the E60 wide open allowing the opportunity for Non-Florida residents to HATE Florida even more.
, ...... Careful ...... that color does not fit you very well.

I have lived in Florida. I have worked in florida.

I own property in florida (keys), good rental!

I prefer my place in NC, apartment in Manhatten, my house in St Thomas and I like to ski in europe.

No pics, no bragging.

I make no apology here. I just hate florida.

Y'all just afraid of discomfort! I keep reading the same thing: FEAR OF DISCOMFORT!.

There is little to envy about the florida lifestyle. if its just weather, then it ain't much!

Past the 2 year mark. Almost 30,000 miles.

Not a scratch. Not a dent. Not even a rock chip.
Just detailed. Clay bar. Pinnacle Sauveran wax.
Sorry to break up the arguement, but can you tell me how a clay bar is used? Where do I get one? I know I'm showing my ignorance, but I've never heard of such a thing.

I have a sapphire black car on order, and I'm determined to keep it looking terrific.

Thanks.

Great car!

My dad is retired and lives in Incline Village (Lake Tahoe, NV). It is great there with lots of things to do - lake for the summer, skiing (Squaw Valley etc.) for the winter, casinos, no state income tax (like FL) and lots of winding mountain roads for Bimmer enjoyment!

While FL is nice, I would chose to retire there as I really hate humidity.

Just search any online auto detail shop and look for clay bar.

It is literally a bar of clay, which you rub over the paint while wet. Since the clay is sticky, it picks up bonded contaminants with ease. It can remove just about anything. Hard tree sap, road tar, even paint overspray.

To truly understand what the clay bar does, you just need to feel the paint with your hand. Lightly rub your palm on the paint before using the bar.... and then try again after. Before you clay the car, the paint will feel bumpy. You will feel all sorts of tiny things stuck to it. After the clay, the paint will feel smooth.

After using the clay bar, you must follow with a wax or sealant..... since the clay will remove any previous wax protection.
