My thoughts exactly. It got flooded and refurbed.

Take away a bit of the upholstery and doorpanels.

Yes it was used but flooded...hmmm. The rest of the car is fine...just the area around the battery

well all the cars that have been flooded have problems with electronics.. that would explain your trunk lid case...
maybe it is just my imagination but I have a friend with such a car and also I see so many add around for a nice car for a good deal but...... it is flooded, which they do not tell you.....
