E60 sport towbar-towbar-014.jpgHave removed the detachable towbar from my e60 m sport. The car didn't have one new, I had a retrofit bmw detachable bar fitted to enable me to pull our new caravan. I have now sold the car so as I paid for the towbar, I removed it!
Would anyone on the forum be interested in a detachable bar with all electrics and including the replacement panel at the bottom of the bumper??
Towbar was on the car for just over a year and is as good as new. Dealer quoted over £1200 for the complete job.
The towbar will also fit E61 m sport.
I am located in Northern Ireland, will ship via courier will check cost am pretty sure could be expensive due to weight and size.
As for price, I really have no idea, bearing in mind what I paid for it, I am open to sensible offers, will not give it away!
The bar is only suitable for m sport models.

Hi.

Is it much work to install? Would this be something I could do myself? (Quite handy, but not a mechanic!)
I am based near Belfast, so not far.
Any rough idea of price? What did it cost you?
Cheers,
Ross.

Hi Ross, if you are quite handy you could do it yourself, I think (however not 100%) the bumper has to come off.
I paid £950 for it after a heap of haggling, bought the car here etc etc. I had a friend of a friend remove it from my car so didn't get hit with a big bill from BMW. The electrics are all plugs so no soldering or black tape required like the old days!
As for price I think £400 would be a fair price considering what I paid for it, however make me a sensible offer if you like, I will consider it!
Cheers, Mark.

Sheesh! That's bloody expensive! I paid £320 for my towbar with three day air freight shipping from the UK to the USA.
