My Ride: 2004 BMW 545i sport package with Mteck & M5 Rims Mpower
Question E60 smoking

Hi guys . Quick question to see if anyone has any idea or suggesting . My 545i is smoking a lot recently sometimes it stop when I'm on the road but when I stop on a red light and accelerate I could see a patch of white smoke . When car is cold no smoke and I warm it up little smoke . Any ideas of what this maître be guys ???? I have gone to the indie yet but I'm afraid it's a major concern . So any suggesting on what this may be ??? Really appreciated

Smoking sounds to be a problem with those v8's. How many miles do you have on the motor?

search the forum for bad valve stem seals, and crankcase ventilation valve..cvv.

OK, Yeah..what turboawd said. Seems to be a recurring problem with the V8's.

Valve stem seals. Had exactly the same issue in my 07 550i.. There's a guy in NY that fixes it for 2k including parts. I bought the kit from AGA tools and fixed it myself for about 1k including the kit and a Air compressor I had to buy.

Make sure you do your oil changes every 5-7k miles after fixing this...

Hi brother, with using the AGA kit, do you need to demount the engine from the chassis for valve stem seal replacement? I just wonder if the space is sufficient to do the replacement job without taken out the engine!
