Its not the i-drive. He's totally lost all CD functions. Looks like thay may check his connections and if there's no visible wrong connections, then its the software they'll attack next. If they do so, then there's a very high possibility of them (in my words) re-formatting the system.
Anyway, 16 BHP is nothing much. It may be worth considering if they can squeeze another 25 - 30% worth; otherwise for the same amount of money, he can always upgrade his WINGFLAPS!!!

I would think CD functions/AUX function are programmed thru i-drive so based on what i understand it got nothing to do with ECU. can always verify with Rob on what circumstances ECU map will be reset through CIP rev up or reprogram!
ya 16 horses will get lost in the sea of variation in day to day driving. after driving the e60 for 3 years and with rob's magic for part of it... i felt the car is tempremental and alot of time i felt it is the AGS is cuplrit. Sometimes the car is hyperactive and some is sluggish. darn electronics!

Hi fellow singaporean.. I'm newbie in this forum... nice to meet you all
I live in Indo and currently drive 530i with complete package except xenon...
I've been searching for xenon headlights for quite some times in Indo but the price is ridiculous high...
Do you know where in Singapore could I find OEM Xenon headlights with reasonable price ? Many thanks In advance..

hehee... I like it esp during the nite when the climate is cooler.. you can really feel the car pulling!
But during the hot afternoon... i am afraid too much drag will make the veins (water hoses) pop! Then engine steam steam....
I am really starting to like the E60. Its a perfect car to mod, have family, executive at work and also prestige! Not too huge for parking and also can even "Bang" with more style...
Think i better try K&N filters.. if not ITG foam filter seems pretty good, but oily and messy.. needs to be custom made too...

Yah... after installing the Hurricane & 4 to 5 full tank refills, the FC indicator seem to reflect an average of 2% increase. Dunno how much more power the engine deliver with it but my butt can feel the slight increase in power at mid to high revs.

Its mid to high pitch (something like a squirrel) and it only occurs intermittent at blower level 3 and above. Something to do with the aircon gas (not enuff will cause sound too) and also condensator failing.. if not its some bearing making the cricket some behind the louver.. Sometimes setting the colder temp with make the parts dry and cause friction.
My personal experiance, to maintain your aircon system, you should set your aircon at 23-25 Deg and always switch off b4 engine off. MY 320i is 4 yrs old now.. i only top up with the buddyclub treatment to make it smoother, colder (mine set at 25Deg) and also lesser stress to the compressor. only 50-60 bucks to make your aircon system healthy yearly. Worth it...

Bimmer aircons seem to require a lot more maintainence and care than Japanese car aircons. I wonder if it is possible to mod it to a Japanese made one?

Noise from my aircon is low oscillating & 2-tone. Obvious at blower level 1 & 2. At higher blower levels, the air noise will overwhelm this noise. This only occurs early in the morning or late at night when the car is started from cold. I have to find time to leave my car overnight at PML for them to duplicate the problem.

Agree! I had to live with the "musky smell" from the aircon and had to do the infamous "heat treatment" every now and then....
