The 1st only reduces reflection. It'll reduce the effective distance of detection by the white caps, may not be effective at closer ranges of less than 500m.

2nd device is illegal and the user could be charged for preventing law enforcement officers from carrying out their duties. Here is the story.

well, if the second item is legal, i think alot of people will install it liao.
i doubt anyone here has the balls to install it....uh...luckily i dont have an M6....hehe..

the first, i was thinking, is it also legal?
it makes no diff if i drive over some muddy roads and got my plate covered. they cannot take a clear pic of my plate and not to even mention lasered at my number. scot free?

no need to group buy, one bottle can go about 5-6 cars i think.

1st although still illegal, is passive, may not be as serious as 2nd because the latter actively sends out a jamming laser signal to confuse the reader.

ya, these 2 weeks had been seeing alot of "white caps". Just yesterday about 9.30am travelling from Tagore to Sim Ming going to Juzz for cars. before turning into Sin Ming Dr from Upper Thomson (Zag, that's the junction where we met). At the overhead bridge, "white cap" using a telescopic laser detector. She was actaully aiming at cars i think as far as 1 or 1.5km away. therefore you cannot really notice that she is aiming at you last minute....six sense only jump once, and then nothing. i was travelling at 60km/h along that stretch after my last episode there.
gentlemen, drive with caution.

I can deal with WRX waiting along the expressway, they can deter alot of crazy drivers. Lorries, vans and taxis will pull to the slower lane when they saw it. Happily i will overtake at 100 only.
What i cannot stand is white caps on overhead brigdes!! they should deter reckless drivingand not out to "catch"!
by the way that is "Siming Avenue" junction. Siming Drive is further down after Thomson plaza if you going towards Lornie.

the bridge is kinda semi permanent set up.. every other day they are there!

Class 95 FM does prompt location of operation white "something" in their morning traffic updates. do listen to it but not really comprehensive locations.

fair bit of discussion on this in bmw.sg
http://www.bmw-sg.com/forums/lounge/10615-...econd-link.html

the TP ops currently going on around the island should be reaction to this. car with illegal mods are prime targets.

yes, it is avenue when i check my GPS. thank you for highlighting it, Zag.

I would prefer them to spend more manpower to catch and punish people who HOGGED the expressways than to catch those innocently passed the 70km/h mark. Crusing at 80km/h along that stretch is not as dangerous as a vechicle overtaking a car on the left that is being hogged on the highway at 80km/h!!!

just count how many accidents happened on the right lane of any expressways in Singapore and compare it to accidents happened on those roads that these idiotic white caps are stationed???
there maybe nil along those roads but i can say practically daily you see accidents happen on the right lane of expressways because of tailgating and hogging!

Thats a UK write-up. We all know there's no hanging in the UK but not in Singapore. So, the same applies to other laws here. I wouldn't want to be made a scape goat.

You won't even dare imagine what they'd do to your car if they suspect you have one of those. Putting it together again will require lots of patience. Then there's the prosecution bit; you'll be damning yourself by the end of it.
You can throw away a portable device, or worst case, surrender it on location, but not one that is fixed.
