OK! after couple hundreds of km with the new k&n filter, I am convinced I can really feel the engine is smoother and more eager to rev all the way to the red. Darn! been running with choked intake for so long i felt like kicking myself now.
Oh yeah, also the M-steering, got it fitted finally. this how bimmer supposed to feel like. A must have if you don't already!
I've was tempted by this a while back (M shift paddles), but according to the CSA, it will definitely void warranty, plus it's not something you can hide easily......
The K&N is just a filter replacement of the original paper filter. The K&N is better coz it let the air flow thru easier. See here http://www.gruppem.co.jp/en/product/kandn/...ment/index.html
I first used them in my e46 320i back then. It only cost S$95. Have you checked your fillter recently?
Toto's GruppeM is different I beleive it has more sophisticated way for airflow and cooling at the intake.

[Lmk,
take a look at iDash project: http://www.gizmodo.com/gadgets/laptops-pcs...-car-032722.php
but for this you will need a touchscreen
also checked with CSA at PML - the steptronic paddles will void warranty - it requires patching a wire to the current steptronic controller at the gear selector assembly
