[quote name='totoseow' date='Jun 7 2005, 03:44 AM']wa this thread getting funny.? ok..my 2 cents since the mod on the ecu...i can drag my 2nd gear to 120kmh now then the car upshifts itself.? n 3rd gear i will pull till 160kmh.? its 4k rpm n above in DS that the car is in another territory.? its just awesome the feeling.? not sure how much i can do beyond 245 though..i suspect another 10-15kmh at most.?

as for the genting trip..its not possible...i hv to incorporate my wife n kid.? so i m gonna take them to hk wif me for a biz trip instead...sorry guys....next malacca trip perhaps.? still keen to work the car.

5 mins headstart? hmmm....wots the bet?? the fastest i took from kl start of hway to tuas is 2 hours? 3mins....not beyond 250kmh.

rpm was 6500..it goes up so fast now...after 6000..hit it...shifted by itself...to 3rd.

ed..what date do u hv in mind...? no la...me not chionging anymore on h'ways....convoy speed is good enuf. drive too fast...tiring. not worth the risk anymore...if wanna chiong go track.

Your car's performance is awesome ! But how's the petrol consumption after the remap ? Any abnormal behavior to the car that you may have noticed ?

Very impressive. However, can you pls indicate the max rpm you achieved during those ranges?

no consumption actually dropped. due to a more responsive trottle. its worth it. maybe 6spdman can comment as well. the max rpm up by another 250 it seems. hard to see clearly....when i m pulling...it will auto shift just a touch close to 6900.
unless i m doing a 200+kmh high speed run i wun b able to tell u exactly where it shifted...then 2nd gear revved very fast to near 6900 (din touch i m sure)...n changed to 3rd. next i glanced down i was 120kmh...in 3rd...time to hit brakes...

so far no sensors indicating problems etc...even with the headers n de-cat. DMS has a program for all models...they even considered the other parts i put in..like the performance of the hiop headers, the gruppem air filter n the SS exhaust. he knows these other parts performance..n has the data....so basically incorporated them into the program. its hard to describe....but it feels very smooth when it pulls...b4 that...the engine was already pretty decent..now it feels more like it has individual butterfly valves (read vtec instead of vanos) in each cylinder...breathes a lot better....its creamier....doesnt run out of breath. BUT i do feel the liberating of the headers n the CAI plays a huge part as well. best thing...no low end lose of torque.

for those expecting to feel ur car faster in city driving...traffic light to light sprinting..u will be disappointed. below 4k rpm...nothing much cept better trottle response...its the pull in gear when the lobes r lifted higher n longer thats the main diff in the program. and the best place to try is when u r filtering from side road to h'way...u jam it in 2nd...n nail it....u just sail into the 3rd lane at 160...thats how i discovered how long more the cams r lifted. with this mod..u dun hv to buy after market cam shafts. the cams from hiop were 2500 each. same achievement. hope i m clear....

Ho ho ho, got my ride DMSed tonight!

quick phone call to Rob, one hour later it's 27hp more!

On the drive back home, the car does feels more responsive, Rob says the peak torque now comes in 400rpm earlier, and you can actually feel it.

Just in time for Sepang tomorrow woohoo!

Will let you guys know how it is on the track when I get back. Maybe now I can do a sub 3min lap time

How much does Rob charge for the upgrade? Any difference with the HIOP that JFC is doing?

yes big difference...price is about 600 pounds..i said b4. j4c does only fuel n air mapping. wot dms does is to lift the timing of the cams as well as well as the values. its a completely different thing.

There has to be a catch. Higher fuel consumption? Something has gotta give in order that you achieve greater torque.

Just got my car remapped by Rob yesterday. Noticed that there was a little more torque at the lower revs and I felt that the engine sounded throatier. Could be my imagination to justify the money spent <_< However the most obvious change I noticed was fuel consumption. Since I got the car, it averaged 12.8 to 13.2 litres per 100 km. Yesterday, after driving for about 120 km in the City, the Highway and up a few multistorey carparks, I noticed that the fuel consumption averaged 11.6 to 11.8 litres per 100 km
