Yes you can.. but you're going to need that software kit you are planning on returning.
I've raised the idle and it worked like a charm. However, I;ve raised the idle speed when the A/C is engaged and I am still having that problem.

Frogman! LOL
But yes, my 545i does this...especially in cold weather. Sometimes idle will dip to 500rpm and it will shutter a little then go back up. My mechanic says changing my crank case vents may solve the issue.

Guys don't laugh, he's obviously not a native english speaker and made a typo. He already said he's not good with computer stuff. Normal Idle is about 650rpm.
As far as diagnosing that, you're probably not going to get anywhere if you don't have any CELs. And if you're not too good with computers then you're probably not a technically inclined person. If you need help installing the software and getting it up and working maybe you can explain what the issue you're having is? Using a virtual machine? What kind of problem are you having?
You need to be a little more specific with help you need of software install and car.
The idle should be about 650 at all times. It is normal for the idle to fluctuate for a second under load like when you put on A/C. If you raise the idle a bit it may help but if you're idle is already at 650 then i don't think that's going to be a resolution to your issue.

AchtungE60 - you mean 650rpm suppose to be idle of 528i? I know that for example 540i has factory idle 500rpm (really). So would be maybe good to point out exact model. For sure smaller engines than 540i will have higher idle.
PS: I think that main point is, that we can all share our knowledge about our "babies". Does not matter who si/isn't native speaker

I have exact same problem guys, changed ccv with hoses as for now. Also I am planning to change engine and transmission mounts soon and i hear some hissing sound from place where my injectors are.could it be a slight vacuum leak? The car is 525i with m54 autobox. I really do not like dealers and I am do it yourself kind a guy. So any help or sugestions from you guys would be great.

Finally after 2 months of trying to find a solution of the rough idle with out success decide to take it to dealer and they raise the idle from 650rpm to 750rpm and performance a fuel injector cleaner too and car runs like new.

I have same issues as all mentioned above. When coming to a stop, car makes a low/dull vibration sort of noise and idle moves up and down slightly and then corrects itself. I have 2008 528i N52. I replaced Coils and Sparkplugs and the car runs better for sure, but rough idle persists. Going to perform a smoke test to see if there are any vacuum leaks. Will let you know.

Curious. How is your power steering fluid level? I had a weird issue on mine recently. I had a rough idle and got rougher as I turned the wheel during a stop. I noticed my steering fluid was low. I filled it and now the idle is a lot smoother. Just a shot in the dark.
