I am trying to find a Radio/CD / non HD for my 08 535I I have checked for 2008 all i can find are the HDs, I have one and am having problems getting it to work, I got the order code for the radio (s663a)and it pulls up for a 2007 530I, Most of the radios were not HD in 07 so is ths an option. I have found many of these at the scrap yards. Any input would help I did watch a You Tube VId on the 07 it looks the same and the connections looked the same.

 

I'm not sure about your question honestly, but if you do this, I believe that you will also lose the live traffic data picked up on the FM subchannels (which wasn't available on the 07 models, built before August or something.)

 

My bet is that it won't work. Pretty much all idrive components are different between LCI (2008-up) and pre-LCI (2003-07). Even if the actual component works, the idrive trim won't fit your car.

 

Actually, if you are looking for a non-NAV unit, I have my MASK system from my old idrive upgrade (idrive CD unit + mp3 without HD radio from a 2008 car) that I will be happy to sell.
