I took delivery of a 525d saloon a few days ago.
I am extremely disappointed with the car and in particular the ride quality.
Every bump on the road is transmitted throughout the car with the result that I feel ill after driving.
I do not know whether to attribute this to the car suspension design or the run flat tyres.
Note, the type pressure is correct on all 4 tyres.
Can anyone comment on the impact on ride quality of replacing the run flat tyres with standard road tyres ?

Hi Mike,
first - do you have sport suspension or standard? What wheels is the car currently running on?
A change to non-RFL do smoothen the ride, but if you are extremely disappointed it may not help. It all boils down to what you expect from a car; going from acar with soften suspension, say Volvo or M-B, to a BMW will always be something of a cultural chock.

if youa rent used to the BMW ride, then i can understand some thinging it should be Cadilac smooth. This is simply not how bmw does things. The sport wheels, suspension, and rft's only compound this issue for some. others like myself...love the feel the car provides

Switch those runflats quickly.
Go to Tirerack.com, and take a look at the customer ratings and comments for different tires.
The tire alone can cause people feel like they have a different car.
Also cement roads can make the problem a lot worse.
The BMW will not give you the smoothest ride (compared to a Mercedes E-class), but it is also not the worst.
We look forward to hearing a bit once you have changed the tires.
