I want to adjust my car's parking brake cables which I believe requires removing the boot on the parking brake lever from the console. All the references I've found seem to be for earlier models and say to simply pull it out. But my 07's boot edges are somewhat recessed and the rearmost edge (where a release might be) is hidden under the driver's retractable armrest. Before I damage anything I hoped to get some advice specific to this model. Any assistance greatly appreciated.

To adjust the hand brake,You need to adjust the shoes, The adjuster is inside the rear discs, Turn it till you can't move the disc(with the disc retaining bolt removed), then wind it back 3 clicks, when both sides done re-assemble. Not sure you need to adjust the handbrake cables?

Nothin special about getting that boot out. Just clips in and can be removed with small pry tool to release a couple clips around the edge and pull it loose.
