Anyone here familiar with the old Nurburgring circuit. An American "BMW fan" was spotted there with an E60. Just wondered if said American might own an E60, and might just be posting here.

The article is here

I'd love to have a go at the 10 minute lap Clarkson did in the Jag... In my diesel naturally.

I would like to do lap with Sabine instead! She can drive first!

Clarkson lost his words in the first lap. Nordschleife seem to be scary even for motor mouth like him.

Clarkson honestly has no idea in my mind about cars. The only reason he is a presenter is that he can talk. The BMW diesel engine is far better than the jaguar, and topgear magazine said themselves it is probably the best diesel engine in the world. But clarkson didn't even mention this. And the diesel engines are very suited to go round tracks, due to there torque out of the corners. He thinks the diesel engine is worse because the red line on the rpm is very low. He's a complete muppet.

I've done about 50 laps of the Norschleife. It's great fun.

The funny thing is that there were many Brits out there that day. Who took great delight in overtaking JC, and taking the mickey.

JC went out there previously, and was too scared to even do a lap.

I suspect that Jaguar "sponsored" the whole event and TV appearance. Hence no mention of the BMW "Ring Taxi", or their great diesel engines.

It's a public road, so your insurance is valid.

Really?!

I'm pretty sure I''ve seen some clauses in the policy for race course driving. How do I make sure of it?
