Hi all,
I am having problems starting my BMW 535d E60.
I receive alot of messages on the idrive screen. I try and start the engine but it will not start. - The errors are:
- Control systems! Drive moderately
- Cruise Control Failure!
- ELV engaged! Move steering wheel!
- Fog light front right failure! (This is a genuine fault I am aware of: bulb needs replacing)
- Restraint system faulty!
- PDC failure!
I have also had a fuel pump fault.
It seems to be a electrical fault but I have no clue. I have tried replacing the DDE relay like has been suggested on the forums, but still nothing.
Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

Charging system - battery, alternator, and related components.
If you have a voltmeter, check the battery voltage with engine off and then the voltage while the engine is running.

When you try to start the car does it keep trying to turn over or does it just do nothing at all?
If it does nothing it might be something electrical like battery, but if its actually trying to turn over when your turning the key than maybe your fuel pump is bad?

Thanks for the suggestions guys.
Yes the car does attempt to turn over.
I have tried taking the battery out and charging it using a battery charger to full and still the same.
Is there anyway to test the fuel pump?

Have you checked under the spare tire to confirm it isn't wet? There are several computers under there. When the sunroof drains get clogged, water backs up into the trunk and drains to the lowest point, which is precisely where several computers are. One is the IVM I believe which could cause all kinds of stuff
