Hi all, I am new to this forum and really appreciate your help here.
I have an E60 which I like very dearly. I have been having one problem with my car for the past few months and it happened intermittently.
When I start the engine, the car would jerk forward. The feeling is as if a car has been left in 2nd gear and then it's engine started.
No problem when driving.
Any idea?
Thanks.

a bit more info might help....model number? 545/550, 525/528/530, or 535i? also what year? type of transmission?
sounds like you might be experiencing a "transmission slam" which has been discussed a "few times"

I really misunderstood the title, I read it as "E60 JERKS...when started" as in a story about a few jerks in an e60
Also a litte more info, what kind of transmission do you have?

Hi,
I may have a somewhat similar problem. I have a 2008 535xi (E60) with auto trans. When I start the engine, my car makes a CLUNK noise, which I can also feel physically. It sounds like it comes from below or behind me. The car does not move forward or back, it's just a noise and a sensation that shakes the car slightly. This happens before I even touch the gear selector, and it's almost every time I start up. Is this like your problem?
Good luck,
Ray
