The titanium trim was a standard equipment in 04-05 US models

"Titanium" is just painted plastics. Go for wood or aluminium.

IMHO the titanium trim looks cheap and bland as there's too much of it. We have the tit or alloy trim in our X5 and it looks nice because they're small pieces. The size of this trim in the E60 lends itself to all the 3 wood trim options as they break down what again IMHO is a bit of a bland interior.

The Titanium is not just plastics, itis plastic and metal. I just took my off the car and replaced it for the silver carbon fiber.

I guess that it is mounted on an aluminum carrier but the trim part, the part you see and touch, is just painted plastic.

I got a 2nd hand titanium trims from UK and they were metal not plastic, but my wood 1s are plastic.

I think we are talking about two different things here.

1. Titanium trims. The standard ones are painted plastic. You are referring to some high spec trim or aluminium (M5?) that are real metal. Could you post some pictures of your titanium trim?

2. Wood trims. They are wood, all of them, coated with PUR.
