I had an "increased battery discharge while stationary" message a while ago on my car. It was because one of the cars modules wasn't shutting down correctly and still draining the battery when the car was locked. BMW first changed the body control module and that didn't fix it, then they replaced the module in the rear tailgate and that cured the problem.

Try setting your headlight switch to the 0 position each time you leave the car. I'm not sure if hat helps any, but when my car was acting funny with that message, it was a temp cure.

There are many threads on these boards about this subject. It's usually much more complicated than just an alternator or battery issue and Dandle is correct that the cause it generally a module that's not allowing the car to either go to sleep or stay asleep. Finding out which module is the tricky part and is sometimes difficult for trained BMW technicians (with specialized equipment) to troubleshoot the problem...

Check IBS lead (intelligent battery sensor) lead or the battery may not be holding its charge or the car is not going to sleep properly. Check for the orange light going out after one hour by the P on the auto gear shift lever

I was getting the same message. After two days of diagnostics the dealer said that my drivers side comfort accesss door handle was constantly waking up the car. They ordered a new handle and I'm going in next week to have it replaced.

I had the same problem for 3 weeks - when I was on holiday - every morning when I started the car the message came up - it stop just after I come back to UK - and I believe it was because I couldn't park the car straight left side was higher than right and maybe self leveling suspension tried to level the car?

And I also had the daylight switched ON, which I'm not using in UK - but I can try tonight an let you know.

Lights switched ON - no error message - so I believe it was to auto leveling which was discharging the battery in my case.
