Yes, but you get Nasca for no additional charge over Dakota (we have to pay big bucks for the option). You also have BMW Individual. You will probably have the M-sport package much sooner than we will (if ever).

Hi All. in Vancouver here...? (the "real" Vancouver, not the one in OR...)

I have always wondered why BMW doesnt write in the mph under the kph in the speedo?. US models have both measurments written in thier speedo???
Its a pain when I go down across the border and I have to guess the speed limit.
I think the other difference is that most Canadian models come installed with the front license plate bracket too. Also all the packge options are different. No Sirius radio available because we're behind the times. In Canada, no Leatherette upholstery available, Dakota and Nasca Leather only.? Xenon lights optional in US, std in Canada. Obviously no 525 not available (as stated before) only 530 and 545.

cheers.

According to my dealer, I can start ordering both 525xi and 530xi now, delivery will be july to august 2005. Price is still unknown. I got a loaner 2005 530 steptronic to use for the last two days and I feel that for mid size performance sedan, you don't need to look elsewhere. I just feel that the sport seat is not soft enough (may try the comfort seat), and the steering wheel is thick. When I use the idrive to change radio stations, I took my eyes off the road for too long. At the end, I will probably overlook all the minor issues and order a 530xi. Cheers!

Do you even need the X-drive though? We had what, a week with snow on the ground this past winter and that was a bad winter. I had no problems even wth A/S tires on. Some say the x-drive adds weight, upsets the cars balance and performance though I have no experience. Even if you ski, don't you normally take the Cayenne for that? I wish I had comfort seats.

Hi DXXXi,
Nice 530 you got.
I know what you mean. Yes, I don't really need xi, but since it is a new option for 2006, and this seems to be the trend of all mid-size sedans, I just want to try it out. Happy Motoring!

xi would be great if it was on the 545 ... but you guys in van, heck, you guys don't even go to work if it snows, right?

But, having xi would be a great feature for a car in Canada or the mainland ... so if and when you sell, the car could go to any province

We still go to work in the snow but it's like a pinball game on the roads. Actually, the best thing about the snow this past winter was the timing - my car was in getting a SW upgrade for the first 3 days so I drove a loaner 330. I was a bit worried when I then had to pick up my car but no problems. I actually wouldn't mind an 06 530xi either - assuming its not too outrageous extra $.
