This might not be news anymore but my dealer confirmed today
that the E60 facelift will happen in March '07.

Also the 1-series will get a facelift and the new 2-door 1-series will
be introduced.

My dealer confirmed that New Year's Day will be on the 31st December.

He'd been on a training course and knew what I wanted to hear.

Seriously though for any such announcement to have credibility it's gonna have to come from somewhere other than a franchise.

Also what does "in March" mean in practice? March deliveries? March ordering?

Or just March madness?

Interesting, so many members here say that new model years only begin in October. If the face lift happens in March and it becomes an 08 E60 will that really be an early October release?

Try this point.

When will orders start. When will deliveries start?

It's so easy to say "March" but until the implications are understood it's just another month.

I'm one of those!

But now the case goes like this, I suppose much to the US customers demands.
The E60 is pretty big in the US and so '08 E60 is a facelift.

My dealer is very close to BMW Nordic, which is BMW Ag owned, so I'm 100 % sure this is a fact!

When in March excactly the manufacuturing starts, I do not know.

Delivery to and from (X5) the US takes 6-8 weeks.

We've known the importance of the US market all along.

Part of introduction into US is emissions certification for new engines. It'll be interesting whther the March or September camps win out.

Isn't it the case that the initial e60 launch was in Europe - months before being introduced in US?

But what makes as company successful is its ability to respond to changing market drivers rather than sticking to arbitrary tradition.

That's one reason US do not have diesels, the other reasons are ... and ...

The new improved 530i -engine (275 hp) as the new 535i (306 hp) meets the US emission standards.
Also the US market will get the 528i, which is a 3 litre version of our 525i (as in the E92).

We europeans will get the new, little stronger than before, 520d, 525d, 530d and 535dA with the new gearbox etc.

Available, at least as left wheel drives, in April.

Must happen the same time, but of this I'm not 100%.

The E36, E34, E46 and the E39 Tourings did get facelifted the same time as the sedans.

The E46 coup? did not follow this trend.
