Forget the options (you'll never get the money back for those),
the car is the target!
What options do you need?

I would need
- ski slot + folded seats
- radio professional (mp3)
- climate with extended functions
Nice to have (could afford in e60 but not on e61)
- hi-fi system
- leather (or textile/leather combo)
- sport wheel
- sport seats
- lumbar support
Also in my opinion e61 just looks too big.

It just so happens that I purchased an E91 323i (2.5l, 130kW) yesterday for my wife. Here are my observations:
- Ride not as smooth as my E60 but it is still good and a lot better than the MB A160 she had. I belive the RFT also contributes to the mildly rougher ride.
- Interior space is good. I'm 6'3" and a med sized adult can still sit behind me when I drive.
- I love the room available with the rear seat folded down. Very useful.
- Handling is good
- It looks sharp! I think the E91 looks better than the E90. It certainly has 'presence'.
Having said all that, I think it is too expensive for what it is once you put some of the options on. If you want to go value for money and not fussed about the space then I'd recommend you go the E60. I wouldn't have bought the E91 if that was our primary car.
Hope this helps.

Here in Europe a car is relatively basic.

- hi-fi system
- leather (or textile/leather combo)
- sport wheel

- lumbar support

A facelifted E61 do not need sport seats nor wheel and the T model has folded seats as standard.
The textile seats are great as they come.
What you need is automatic trans and maybe Hi-Fi speakers.
Just go and test drive the current E91 vs. E61!

E60 or E91? Which one? I currently drive E39 Touring, have 2 kids (8 and 10 years old). I need a car for daily commuting (cca 40km) and weekend trips (<200km). Overall <20.000km/year.
E60 - more space and more comfortable, less equipment
E91 - practical - Touring, smaller, less space but much sportier and fun (better sport seats...), cheaper - I could afford more equipment
I know this is E60 forum, anyway I appreciate any advise. Thanks.
